Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is a FUNNY film!

Alternatively... i haven't posted in my lj for long enough to mean i have to do it again.

Yes, I got my hands on a full divX rip of that movie. AND IT ROCKS. I also have a copy of Dogma and Blade Runner (what I hope is the good version, not the crappy one).
So more movie watching later.

I am really annoyed that my mother isn't going to let me go to Terracon. Cause I was really looking forward to being able to spend a weekend with my friends. I suppose I shall have to fight for my Terraconian right. Hehe, that rhymes.
How do you spell rhymes? Is it like that?

I feel kind of relaxed now that we have the semester out of the way. So you may notice my posting frequency get back up to what it should be. This will be entirely due to:
  • being bored of study, seeing as I have four courses to learn in a week.
  • being bored of study, i've already failed a few exams, lets fail some more
  • it's holidays, I failed all my exams, now at least I can pretend I didn't for 4 weeks
  • it's the next semester, I never turn up to classes anyway, why should I start now?
In fact, I even did rather well in my Jellyfish this week. So yes, I am kinda happy.

Interesting/Stuff that happened yesterday (another list cause lists are easy when tired):
  • Rescued Apple laser printer from bin where it was being attacked by two drunks. There is now toner EVERYWHERE in the guild, and as well as toner... toner FOOTPRINTS.
  • Some guild flunky insisted we took our 'mate' home. This was rather amusing, as we had never seen any of them before, and were simply stopping them from attacking a printer.
  • Adrian got drunk, then got a phone call, then had to get undrunk while I drove him to Belmont to fix things, then drove him to a party, then drove back to uni.
  • Didn't end up having pizza due to prior driving of Adrian, a little annoyed but lived. Also meant I didn't spend money on food ;)
  • Drove to Kalamunda to take coxy home. Missed Welshpool Rd (unsure how) on way home so had to take Roe Hwy to Connect to Tonkin (this was long and annoying).
  • Downloaded Buffy Musical and IRCed until wee hours of the morning.

At some point in there I realised that I had left my bag in UCC (how very stupid of me). Vegeta also wanted help submitting his CS lab, and there was an LCA 'meeting' about the actual venues in the Uni for LCA at the beginning of next year. This means that I had to be at uni by 1100 this morning... I got up at 1021.
    That was all bad!!

Ironically enough, I mangaged to get to uni on time (god knows how) and enjoyed much campus wandering. The other cool thing about all the campus wandering was that I got to see the machine room at the UCS. I now know what all the exciting (and somewhat noisy) servers look like.
Sitting in UCC surfing the net, thinking about how silly EVN is and that people who play it are crackwhores, I was talking to Kally online and we decieded to meet up. This was a good thing cause I hadn't seen Kally for some time by now.

So Kal and I had dinner, and shared a bottle of wine (red stuff containing alcohol) (plonk) and caught up on 6months worth of stuff. It's funny how you can see someone almost everyday for 3years, and then you suddenly hardly ever see them ever. It kinda leaves a hole I think that can't really be filled to easily.
Basically it was good to see her again.

Yes, seeing as I did drink, this would mean that I've given up giving up drinking (that lasted long didn't it). However, this was the good kind of drinking, where you feel mildly intoxicated and want to talk lots. Not the bad kind where you end up spraweled out on the floor saying 'It's all bad, It's all bad'.

Hmm, I'm not sure what else to add at this point.

Except this; for those of you who use xine...
For some really evil reason, you cannot unmount volumes that xine has played from. The explanation for this (after noticing that xine had no running processes) is that xine respawns the xscreensaver when it exits. It's this xscreensaver that is confusing xine into thinking that there is a file still open on the mounted volume. Running xscreensaver-command -exit should fix this (by releasing the xscreensaver process spawned by xine. Then spawn your own new one, as you usually would.

    It's all dodgy!!

Also, started analysing Aaron's forum for glitches. He managed to forget a logout button to instantly expire the cookie and all that jazz. I found that strangely amusing.

    With love and stuff....
