I went to go and see Centrelink today as the first step in my plan of moving out. Had a nice chat with the lady who told me a lot of stuff that I already knew. She also, however, told me something that I didn't know, something that I think will fuck me and my entire plan.
Since I'm not 18, I can't simply get my parents to sign a Statuatory Declaration to give me my independance. I will have to go and see a social worker and that could get all bad.
I find it amusing that a an alcoholic, drug filled 21 year old is legally responsible for himself, yet me... who won't be 18 for 6 months legally can't look after himself.
I laugh at the attitudes and values of a society which places its concept of responsibility in age rather then moral worth.
Now I have to deciede where I want to go from here. I really want/need to leave, but to what ends will I have to go?
