Retail therapy is always a great way to ensure you're supporting the free market economy.
Today my dollar votes were mainly used to support JB HiFi, in their ongoing, capitilistic effort to drive Sanity (and all other competitors) out of business.
I now own: Placebo,
Without You I'm Nothing; Placebo,
Sleeping With Ghosts; Placebo,
Black Market Music; and Miles Davis,
Conceptions. I also own a new pair of black jeans, and a copy of
Pirates of the Carribean.
Have been building GNOME CVS to play with things. Have also arranged a
gathering next Friday to celebrate (read:
drink in) the release of
GNOME 2.6.
Grahame purchased Cowboy Bebop, I have this temptation to steal it and watch it. I figure he owes me since I gave him a lift into Subiaco.
Planet UCCOn the request of Ian McKellar, I have completed the FOAF and OPML plugins to the same specification as is available in the PlanetPlanet source. I haven't read the specifications yet for FOAF or OPML, however FOAF looks like it can be quite complex. I also suspect there are issues with my XML, only everyone seems to hand out exciting, badly formed XML, I'm not quite sure what's meant to be good XML. If anyone who
is good with XML reads this, can they please check out the
Planet UCC XML feeds for correctness? It'd be appreciated greatly.
I also merged (well, rewrote, but merged the ideas from) TRS-80s patch. Ironically, some of them were actually critical to get the FOAF support and that working. Now, all I need is commit access back to my own repository... *glares at [TRS]*
Need to get more people on Planet UCC!!
UniSFA AGMSeemed to go fairly smoothly, acted as a responsible and ethical returning officer.
The UCC AGM will be more interesting, I stupidly arranged to do my Digital Systems Design laboratory that afternoon (ie, at 2pm). Hopefully the election for secretary can happen well before then. If not, or I miss out on secretary (and have to be an OCM) who knows what will happen. To be honest, I'm still having trouble predicting the 2004 committee for UCC. Current big names who are likely to be running include Susie, Bernard, TRS, Mesh and myself. I also assume RME and Jeff will run, both of whom would be good. I am under the impression Ben is not running. That is enough people for committee positions, however it means that if I want to be secretary, then someone from current exec has to become an OCM. Given I think TRS wants to be vice president, and Bernard does not want to be president... perhaps we'll see the combination: Susie for president (ooher, a girl president); TRS for vice president (as he wants); myself for secretary (did I mention how much work I've done?); Bernard for treasurer (he's good at it); Mesh, Jeff and RME for OCM. Hopefully we also get a good fresher representative. Of course... by writing all of this I've bitten myself in the arse, and my prediction will be completely off.
