Dropped Stephanie and her family off at the airport today. They have apparently arrived in Penang without incident.
Today was a high-expenditure day. News tires on the front of my car, the ones on the front were six months old, and have now been rotated to the back. It's good to have an entire set of good tires.
After dropping Stephanie off, I went to visit my Mum, who is pretty much just around the corner from the International airport, relatively speaking. We did some saxaphone practice for this concert on Saturday. I then recalled that my black shoes disintegrated while I was in Germany and that I couldn't wear brown shoes to a performance. I stopped by Carousel on the way northwards and managed to find a pair of shoes. They were a little pricey, but they looked good, and when you have largish feet (Au 12/Eu 46/US 13) you can't really complain.
I'm slowly learning my way through all the internals of GTK+ drawing code, which is good as it has allowed me to identify a number of issues inside the drawing code for the GTK+ 2.x port of one of our applications. I have started wrapping a lot of the complexities of our drawing code inside a single custom GTK+ widget in its own library. I am also looking at replacing the entire rendering library with something written in Cairo, but that may test my maths out a little.
If anyone in Perth wants to come to the Armadale City Concert Band gig on Saturday evening, give me a yell. It's in Byford, rather than Subiaco, which is a pain, but still looks like it might be a good night. Tickets are reasonably priced from memory. The theme of the gig is music from movies.
