The Liberal party (the conservatives) really are running one massive smear campaign, regardless of Mr Howards thoughts. Exhibit A is some choice quotes from election propaganda for Julie Bishop, Member for Curtin:

"In contrast, the Labor Party has chosen as its leader the most inexperienced person ever to aspire to the role of Prime Minister. The Labor front bench is made up almost entirely of former Union officials and has the most narrow range of experience of any political party in Australian history."

It goes on to provide a selection of graphs going back to the early 90s, showing things like national debt, unemployment and interest rates, but they're all pretty selective with their start dates. I consistently find it funny how the Government takes every single scrap of credit for the resources boom and never want to admit Howard's previous economic credentials. All-in-all, I think my favourite part of this pamphlet is the policy-rich page "Five reasons why you should not vote Labor". Compelling stuff!
