bits and bobs

Got back to Perth yesterday evening, attended Steph's Dad's 60th birthday shindig, then collapsed into bed. Made delicious vegan pancakes this morning, then looked at a flat in South Perth that we felt kinda blah about. Satay tofu, rosti and the O'Rouke salad for dinner.

For those of you still in Melbourne. Stephanie has been blogging some of the places she visited and things she ate. So if you're looking for something to do, or somewhere to eat, check it out.

Finally, can someone on the Lazyweb tell me how librsvg's rsvg.Handle.write works? I'm using it in Python to load XML using libxml2, manipulate it, serialize it and load it into rsvg. Something like this:
doc = libxml2.parseFile ('my.svg')
# manipulate doc
handle = rsvg.Handle ()
s = doc.serialize ()
handle.write (s)
handle.render_cairo (cr)
The Cairo surface comes up blank. I tried loading the SVG directly using rsvg.Handle("my.svg"), which works. What am I doing wrong?
