James Morrison performed at the Mundaring Weir Hotel on Saturday night (
he's done this before). It's a picnic/concert, so we brought rice paper rolls and sushi from home. Some people were cleverer than us, they brought Little Ceaser's pizza from down the road (the most delicious pizza ever).

There was a new line up this year, but James still told the same jokes as always. He brought the vocoder along again and did two numbers with it. I'm pretty sure he played Summertime last year too. He certainly told the same jokes about the machine, and used the same chords while telling them.

I'd heard about James' ability to play multiple notes through his trombone at the same time (
multiphonics), but I'd never heard it done.
It was a very enjoyable gig. I'm really looking forward to
The Whitlams, who are playing at the same venue next month.
